[Belgium. Fortifications] (Campagnes des Maréchal de Luxemburgs en Flanders 1690-94)
(Potsdam?, ca. 1780). 30 engr. maps, contemp. blindtooled calf wrapper, oblong folio, 35.5 x 57 cm. Contains two sets of 12 maps, each forming a large wall map of Belgium showing the areas under siege, general map titled "Carte Des Pais Bas Catholiques Vulgairement connus sous le nom De Flandre" w. col. outlines, and 5 other maps depicting sieges and battles, some maps with typeset explanatory text at right side. Wr. a bit worn, edges sl. frayed, trifle foxed.
Very curious collection and apparently unrecorded collection of maps, no other copies traced. The maps show a clear similarity to Jean de Beaurain's Feldzüge des Marschalls von Luxemburg (1784), suggesting these are perhaps proof or working copies, as several maps contain large blank sections.
