[Numismatics] Four tokens: (1) Holtzhey, J.G. 50th anniversary Nederlandse Huishoudelijke Maatschappij, 1828

Silver token, Ø 5 cm, weight ca. 38 g., posthumously struck after a design by Holtzhey, recto w. allegorical image below the motto "Eer en voordeel", verso w. the central text "Het vijftigjarig bestaan der Nederl. Huish. Maatschappij gevierd 1828" surrounded by a laurel wreath of oak branches. (2-3) Two copies of the token commemorating the 400th anniversary of the invention of bookprinting by Laurens Jansz. Coster, Haarlem, 1823. Silver (?), Ø 3.6 cm., weight approx. 14.5 g., recto dep. the monument in the Haarlemmerhout (unveiled 10 Juli 1823), verso w. text "Ter eere van Lourens Jansz Koster. Uitvinder der boekdrukkunst, door burgemeester en raden der stad Haarlem op het IV eeuwgetyde MDCCCXXIII." The two present copies differ sl. in weight. Added: one other silver example w. a weight of approx. 25.5 g.
