[Aviation] Fokker F.VII. Batavia 24-XI-1924. First K.L.M. flight from Amsterdam to Batavia

Woven linen (or silk?) commemorative damask decorated in gold-coloured thread, 77 x 77 cm, designed by André Vlaanderen (1881-1955) and executed by Koninklijke Weverij Van Dijk (Eindhoven), mentioning the names of the crew, the pilot Jan Thomassen à Thuessink van der Hoop, lieutenant-pilot Hendrik van Weerden Poelman and mechanic Pieter van den Broeke around the square central section dep. the airplane an a amap of part of the route, surrounded by a very fine point-symmetrical decorative border incorporating eagleas and coats of arms w. the words "Je maintiendrai" in corners. Very rare, especially in this in splendid condition.* Kept rolled in modern board tube indicating the provenance (originally handed out to Petrus van Vegchel by the Van Dijk firm) and "boekje ook aanwezig".
