Kever, J.S.H. ('Hein') (1854-1922). "Marlotte"
Two oil paintings, 30 x 41 cm and 29 x 25.5 cm, both oil on canvas, marouflaged on oak panels, signed in lower left and right corner and dated "Marlotte juli '82" and "Marlotte aug. '8(2)", in simple unif. frames. The panels visible and traces of former frames along the irregular margins of the canvas. The smaller painting w. some superficial dam. Both requiring cleaning.
*Hein Kever was one of the members of the Larense School. During the winter he stayed in a pied-à-terre in Amsterdam, at the Oosterpark; his neighbours included Geo Poggenbeek and Nicolaas Bastert (see works of art by them elsewhere in this auction) and later Willem Witsen, Isaac Israëls and George Breitner.
