Extensive photographic record of the 1959 Boekenbal, comprising 81 gelatin silver prints (mostly 19.5 x 20 cm). Depicting writers, illustrators, publishers and other participants of the annual event, including Han Hoekstra, Henriëtte van Eyck, Opland (Rob Wout), Mette Koornstra (with puppet decoration of the Ball), Max Dendermonde, and the performers of the play 'De Zwarte Bruid' by C.J. Kelk and Géza Frid, and others. Most prints with photographer's stamp on verso.
