[Brabant] Fourteen miscellaneous documents on vellum,

15th-20th cent., var. (partly large) sizes, partly w. wax seals. Comprises a.o.: (1) Official document by the "Staaten van Brabant", dated "den maend van mey inden jare XVI vijffenveertigh" (?), 35 x 50.5 cm, w. attached (dam.). red wax seal "Sigillum statuum Brabantie", w. date 1557. With orig. summary in pen verso: "Voor het Collegie van Coninck (...) Louis". Mentioning an enormous amount of "sesse hondert dusent guldens". No other examples of the seal could be traced by us. (2) Engr. passport filled-out in pen for the ship "De Vrouw Anna" and shipper J.C.J. Langhetée, 32 x 32 cm, signed in pen and with paper seal of King Willem I of the Netherlands, dated December 1829. Cf. marhisdata.nl, indicating that this vessel, a "kof" of 52 tons with owner Langhetée from Antwerp, was among the 198 ships whose "zeebrieven" were withdrawn as a result of the Belgian revolution. -and 12 others, mainly English indentures, mortgages, conveyances, wills, etc., partly relating to the city of Chester and incl. documents mentioning the name (George) Dutton (Mason & Moore), 1744, 1752, 1793, 1862, 1880, 1882, 1890, 1891, 1892 and 1912 (2x), and incl. a small medieval vellum fragment (maculature). Added: 4 others, dated 1787, 1827, 1835 and 1884. The collection kept in wooden box.
