Puzzle lamp consisting of num. plastic ("Ronfalin, ABS") octagon puzzle pieces that can be attached to each other to create any thinkable form. Loose as issued, with all components required to construct own's own lamp. In orig. styrofoam box w. printed illustrated wrapper w. assembly instructions in Dutch, English, French and German, 25 x 18.5 x 7.5 cm. Wrapper nibbled by silverfish, some traces of tape, but otherwise unused and complete as issued.
*This design - based on molecular structures - fits neatly into the development of geometric art in the course of the 1960s. In 1970, Slothouber en Graatsma represented the Netherlands at the Venice Biennale. This puzzle lamp was issued by DSM a promotional item for its Ronfalin-based ABS plastic and is now very rare.
