Miguel-Ángel Cárdenas (1934–2015) aka Michel Cardena, was a Colombian-Dutch artist working in the realm of new realism/pop art in the 1960s. He was included in the prominent 1964 Nieuwe Realisten exhibition in The Hague. He was a pioneer of performance and video art in the 1970s, and became a founding member of the artist-run space In-Out Center in Amsterdam in 1972. His work often has (humorous) sexual connotations, as shown in the 'Zipper' series from the early 1960s.
