Richards Jarden. Photo Series, collection of six sequences

Halifax, Nova Scotia, 1970. Amazing series featuring Facial Angle, Falling, Traffic Jam, Cinderella, Running in Place (Simulation), and High Tide (Simulation). Near complete set, missing only Sunset (Simulation). Small manila envelopes, 7.5 x 11.5 cm, containing loose numbered index cards with b/w photographic images, plus a title card, each 7.3 x 10.6 cm. All envelopes with title printed on recto and Art & Project sticker on verso (except for Traffic Jam, the sticker is detached). Unknown, but small, edition size.

Conceptual art project consisting of film-still like sequences of photos showing different types of movement. Each envelope contains 6 to 9 cards. It was published as part of the experimental publishing program at Nova Scotia School of Art and Design in Halifax, Canada. The work was exhibited at the seminal show 'Information' at MoMA New York in 1970, and is held in the collection of MoMA (Avalanche Magazine Archives).
