Ian Hamilton Finlay. Star/Steer (Christmas print)
Tarasque Press, Nottingham, 1966/1968. Created by Ian Hamilton Finlay with Edward Wright. Screen-printed silver on steel grey stock, 57 x 44.5 cm. Produced in an edition of 350 copies. Very good copy.
Famous work by the renowned British artist, referring to the Star of Bethlehem steering the three wise men to Jerusalem. The print is often dated 1966, but it was issued in 1968 by Tarasque Press on behalf of Finlay, who was unable to print it himself due to health issues at the time.
