Special poster series made in an edition of 1000, this copy numbered 143 on rear. Printed by Arti Grafiche La Monzese, in Cologno Monzese. Added is an original handwritten and typed letter from Ed.912 publisher Gianni Emilio Simonetti to Richard Hamilton, discussing the production of the poster.

Swingeing London 1967 features an assemblage of press clippings relating to Hamilton’s gallerist, Robert Fraser, and members of the Rolling Stones, who were arrested in 1967 by London police for drug possession. Collaged, sensational headlines and trivial news items mimic sensational tabloid design. Upper left features a photo by John Twine, depicting Fraser and Mick Jagger handcuffed in a policevan, an image Hamilton re-purposed in famous later works. The poster is in excellent condition.
