CAyC Buenos Aires. Publications from the Art and Architectural Documentation Center
The Center of Art and Communication was founded in 1968 by Jorge Glusberg in Buenos Aires, promoting international exchange of experimental art and architecture, video art, and critical research. Its Art and Architectural Documentation Center was a prolific publisher of books, compendiums, booklets, pamphlets and catalogues.
This lot comprises: (1-3) Three publications with general information about the center, including a 1980 publisher's list. (4-19) Sixteen booklets published between 1979 and 1981 containing art-critical texts, mostly in Spanish or English. Often published in collaboration with international organisations of critics, congresses, universities or museums. Titles include 'New Theories', 'Sociosemiotics of Architecture', 'The Art of Performance'. (17-24) Eight pamphlets relating to congresses, including the 'Journées interdisciplinaires sur l'art corporel et performances' (Centre Pompidou, Paris) and the 'Third International Meeting of Architectural Critics' (MoMA, New York). (25-27) Three bulletins from the Argentinian section of the International Association of Art Critics, 1979-1980. (total 27)
