[Catchpenny prints] Calligraphed wish and seven popular prints, 19th-cent

"Kersdicht Aan Mijn Waarde Ouders"; Contemp. handcol. lithogr. Print, produced for children to honour their parents with a handwritten/ calligraphed wish in pen. Sheet size 44 x 36.5 cm, the calligraphed poem signed "Tymen Sikkes"; and dated "Hindeloopen 25 December 1840". The attractive image shows the early paddle steamer "Bataver"; on a broad river with a profile of a city in the background, flanked by two columns topped by putti holding flowers. - Tears on folds, frayed and a bit stained. Despite the defects a very nice example. Added: Seven Catchpenny prints, mounted at upper corners. Some waterst. and sm. other imperfections.
