Eschauzier, Frans (1945-1998), keyboard player of the Dutch-Moluccan band Massada

His personal scrapbook concerning a moment of fame at the age of 19, ten years before he became a member of the band. The spiral bound limp board album (with initials "FEE" on inside froncover) documents the moment on the day 8 July 1964, the first of his week's holiday in London, were he "was standing on the steps of Eros taking souvenir snaps with his new £60 camera when he caught the real-life drama of the bandits' chase through the crowded West Ed. These are the pictures he took as the gunman tried to dodge his pursuers. And this is the story he told to the Daily mail" (4-page carbon copy of a typescript article by Brian Saxton on the "Piccadilly bandit"). The Album furthermore contains 4 orig. photographs of the capture of the bandit, six orig. photographs showing Eschauzier taking pictures of the policeman that caught the bandit, num. clippings from English and Dutch newspapers (many w. use of the mentioned photographs), the original remittance of Associated Press, a telegram and a few letters. A truly fascinating personal scrap-album.
