Dutch and foreign photographers, mostly portraits w. the names of the sitters in pen on the passe-partout, but starting w. 4 photographs showing the personification of Fides (Faith) with indication of the four previous meetings in London (1846, the year of the foundation of the Evangelical Alliance), Paris (1855), Berlin (1857) and Geneva (1861) and 3 general photographs of the event, orig. embossed leather over wooden sides by Friedrich Böhler (Frankfurt a.M), two brass clasps, a.e.g., 4to (31.5 x 25 cm).

Unique, early photographic portrait gallery of early members of the still existing Evangelical Alliance, dedicated to Martinus Cohen Stuart (1824–1878), important Dutch preacher, writer and poet of the Remonstrantse Broederschap. Among the portrayed are names like "O. baron van Wassenaer Catwijck", "Graaf H. van Hogendorp", "Graaf van Zuylen van Nyevelt", "C.S. Adama van Scheltema", "Baron van Lynden van Hemmen" and "Mr. Groen van Prinsterer" (anti-slavery activist) and many foreign members.
