*I.G. Farben was founded in 1926 as a fusion of a fusion of a.o. BASF, Bayer and Hoechst, and as such it was the world's biggest chemical firm, often called an industrial miracle, with tens of thousands employees. On the other hand, it became one of the economical pillars of the Nazi-regime and used the prisoners of Auschwitz and Buchenwald as lab-rats, who often died as a result of the tests. They also made use of thousands of forced labourers who worked in terrible conditions. The factory even built its own concentration camp called Auschwitz-Monowitz in order to provide more slave labour. (total 15)
