VII-IX, XXXV, LXIII and LXIV missing. Sold w.a.f. Text vol. with "Van den Schrijver" in pen on half title. Kassian Céphas had three sons who worked as photographer for varying periods of time. His oldest son Sem (1870-1918) succeeded him as court photographer of the Sultan of Yogyakarta. The photos of Kassian Céphas are of great importance for our knowledge of 19th century Javanese cultural history.
