Andy Warhol's Index (Book) in the original publisher's printed bag

Random House, New York, 1967. Hardcover. Original black and silver lenticular printed illustrated boards (3D effect), with silver lettering on spine. First edition, 28 x 21.5 cm. Ills. throughout with photographic plates and inserted multiples. This copy is still sealed in the original printed cellophane bag with peel-off price sticker. Probably a unique copy of the book in pristine condition, since it was never opened.

The Index Book by Andy Warhol (1928-1987) is an iconic Pop Art publication of the psychedelic era in New York. The pop-up book has disjointed black and white images, pop-ups, fold-outs, a disk, a balloon, a record and other cultural detritus manufactured at Warhol's Factory. Also includes images from the Factory featuring Edie Sedgewick, Gerard Malanga, Paul Morrisey and Nico amongst others.
