[Tobacco] Penélopé, of maandwerk aan het vrouwelijk geslacht toegewijd.

This lot concerns several 'handicraft volumes' from the women's magazine Penélopé which appeared between 1821 and 1835. The handicraft section contains patterns and guidelines for making, for example, a phosporus bottle, a 'luiermanskorfje', needle boxes and beggar's blanket. The volumes on offer all contain one or more 'handwerken voor het tabaksgebruik' like a 'sigarendoos in den vorm van een boekje' and 'een zwavelbakje, hetwelk tevens tot souvenir dient'. In more recently made box, bound with strings and glued on orig. title-p. of vol. dating from 1827. (total 12)
