"Hinter dem Eisernen Vorhang"

3 photos from this series concerning the reconstruction. On reverse stamped and with text leaf + 2 phots made in Vienna. All taken shortly after WWII (1945) as commissioned by photo press agency Anefo. 15 x 23 cm. (4 photos) and 16 x 22.5 cm.

Mounted. The Algemeen Nederlands Fotobureau stems from the Photographic Service founded in 1943 as part of the Bureau Militair Gezag. Founded in London by the Dutch government in exile, Anefo served primarily for the production and distribution of educational materials to highlight the position of the Netherlands, and to keep the memory of the legitimate government and monarchy alive with the population in the occupied Netherlands. In 1948 it was sold and grew besides the ANP to become one of the largest Dutch commercial photo press agencies. Anefo existed until 1989. That year its director handed all photos to the Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst. Eventually, via the RVD the extensive collection ended up with the Nationaal Archief in 1996. (total 5)
