[Archive] Herman van den Eerenbeemt

Personal (and partly business) archive of Herman van den Eerenbeemt, containing many interesting items such as unredeemed stocks from 1914, agendas from the war years (1940-1946), many photos, drawings and letters, his entire collection of business cards, cash books, his wedding album, birth books of his children, photo albums, membership cards of various societies and even a proof of discharge from prison after having served two weeks.

In 1926 Van den Eerenbeemt founded a publishing house besides his printing office Erven H. van Munster & Zoon (added: more than fifty stocks), with his first publication being the diaries of Frederik van Eeden. Van den Eerenbeemt was mostly praised for his patronage of (young) artists and promotion of Christian art. Eerenbeemt's archive had already been split up in parts before, and in 2010 one part was mostly donated to the Amsterdam City Archives by the heirs of his son Frans. Besides giving an image of his passion and his contacts in the cultural, political and catholic parts of Dutch society, it also allows a glimpse into his personal life.
