Extremely rare and early unique Eendragt publication, no other copies traced in PiCarta or anywhere else. This copy has several contemporary newspaper articles pasted on the blank leaves before the title page. The Boekverkoopers-collegie Eendragt in Utrecht was founded two years before this publication. In 2013 its 160th anniversary was celebrated. During its existence, the society has seen many famous members (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boekverkooperscollegie_Eendragt). The Commissie voor de Verloting consisted of L.E. Bosch & Son, W.F. Dannfelser, J. de Kruijff, J.G. van terveen & Son and C. Bielevelt. The 1855 flood was caused by breached levees in the central Netherlands on 8 March that year. The idea to raffle books and prints was widely supported among all imaginable publishers of the time, and brought in 20.000 guilders. This list presents the 3384 books and prints in alphabetical order (from A-Z, so complete in itself) and in categories. The value of the items ranged from less than a guilder to fl.80,- The books are recognisable thanks to a seal pasted in the prizes. We found a copy online which, thanks to the alphabetical order of our list, was quickly found as number 669.
