[Bauhaus] Paul Klee (1879-1940)(design). "Neue Europäische Graphik III"

Original portfolio, 1921, boards with design by Klee with half vellum spine with printed title, 57.5 x 46.5 cm., with on the inside of the back cover the colophon of the portfolio with Oskar Schlemmer's Bauhaus logo, the names of the artists who worked on the content [not included] of the portfolio and numbered "32" in pen.

The file in used condition, with tape (residue), damage, small tears on hinges, etc. Very rare, original file, originally published in an edition of some 110 copies. This is the third of a total of 5 portfolios published. Due to the Nazi regime's destruction of "Entartete Kunst", complete Bauhaus files are extremely rare and exceptionally precious. The destruction of the content is also a wry explanation for empty files such as ours, which are very rare too. The fact that the file itself is also a work by an "Entartete" artist was possibly overlooked by the proponents of destruction of "Entartete" art due to the nature of the scene depicted.
