Partly waterstained in bottom margin. Rare and early publication of the Amsterdam city regulations, agreements, customs and laws, printed 20 years after the so-called Alteratie, the change of power in Amsterdam on 26 May 1578 when the Catholic city government was removed. Trade interests played an important rule in this turnaround, as Amsterdam became isolated and other cities threatened to take over the trade.
