Japanese varnished photo album with built-in musical box

ca. 1900, 18 cardboard pages, 23x33x6,5 cm., wooden binding.

Except for the fact that the binding is both pretty (with painted depictions of a.o. Mount Fuji) and in good state, this album also contains an eclectic collection of photographs of soldiers, horses and many portraits (late 19th century until ca. 1940). Definitely worth taking a closer look.
