[Dutch] Kees Pruis (Spaarndam, 1889 - Amsterdam, 1957)

Lot of ca. 120 pieces of sheet music between 1914-1950 by Kees Pruis, most of which have been performed by him, partially his repertoire in interpretation of other contemporary artists. Incl. several sheets by famous designers such as Hardy and Herzig.

*Pruis began as greengrocer when he started to build a name for himself in cafes and small theaters, and became a show singer. He debuted as singer in the Schouwburg van Haarlem in 1914. Pruis was known for his merry, light songs, and was nicknamed "the gentleman-humorist". *Fairly complete collected works
