Sm. folio, cloth, frontplate in black and gilt-stamp with original woodcut of a ringowl (no. 1.) 2 further original woodcuts, no. 2. on p. 4, parakeet and no 3. on p.16, white-naped crane. Complete with 27 further woodcut reproductions, pen drawings, coloured drawings, etchings, O.I. ink drawing and a sensitivic etching. The woodcuts and reproductions are all behind blotting paper, 46 pp., in excellent condition. Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita was an Amsterdam-Jewish artist (Amsterdam 1868 - Auschwitz 1944), known for his sensitivic drawings. He taught, among others, M.C. Escher.
