Memorial book Professor Everardus Henricus van Leeuwen January 1887-June 1903

Memorial book presented by his students, with dedication calligraphed and gilded by A.H. Haupst, 10 pasted photos by W.G. Baer, 15 leaves with ca. 150 calligraphed names, bound in full dark morocco with silver clasp, corner caps and central plaque (white metal, maker's mark Begeer, date letter 1903), silk endpapers, large 4to (35 x 31 cm).

Tanned along edges, the calligraphic page trifle damaged in lower margin. Inner hinges are vulnerable. The central silver plaque on the front cover is finished in lovely Jugenstil, with the monogram "EHvL", the stone tablets with Hebrew epigraph and the monogram PX and dove.
