[Eindhoven Police Dep.] 25 Jaar Lief en Leed bij de Eindhovense Politie. 1919-1945

Samengesteld door Hoofd Insp. Matla. (Eindhoven, private press, 1951), illustrated title page by Kuhr Junior, 87 typed leaves (only recto), many original photos pasted on separate leaves with typed inscriptions, graphs and charts, original half cloth, folio.

Extraordinary, privately published historical overview. Printed in very small numbers as demonstrated by the fact that we could locate only one other copy (University Library Tilburg). The epilogue, signed by the author in pen (p. 87), shows that they produced the overview as commissioned by the then Chief Commissioner Van der Werf and Commissioner Pijls. From the writings on page 1, it appears that the compiler worked very accurately. Several police archives were lost in their entirety during the war years; taking that into consideration makes Matla's report a crucial source in this field.
