"Elephant". Watercolour, Groningen, 1988. Made by Brood as payment for a dose of heroin during a concert of Herman Brood & The Wild Romance in De Oosterpoort in Groningen.

Made with a syringe on wrapping paper. 81 x 111 cm. Signed and dated. *Provenance: from collection of the drug dealer, who dealed and used drugs at the time, but has since moved on in life. Regarding the elephant: after having been asked what the picture should depict, he asked for an elephant, as his mother would appreciate having it on the wall.
