Record player 'Hatbox', Philips

Philips 3902 "Porteldisc". Bakelite. Box lid and arm intact, not electronically tested.

*Introduced in 1941. The lid of the gramophone, made of bakelite, is also the turntable. The synchronous motor is started by hand by keeping the rubber drive wheel between thumb and index finger and turning it. When the motor is running, the lid/ turntable can be placed on the designated spindle. A warning light indicates whether the motor is running or not, when the light is on the motor does not run.
