André Belloguet (1830-1873). Nine plates, incl.: (1-4) "Pilori-Phrénologie".

Four (stencil-coloured) lithographed caricatural portraits from the series, numbered 3, 4, 7 and 12, all signed and dated 1870 (printed), all ca. 33 x 27 cm. (leaf size), all with name of the person depicted and a four-line verse below the image.

Portraits of "Bismarkoff 1er", "S.S. Guillaume-le-Boucher", "Rouher-le-Mignon" and "Leboeuf". The artist is mostly known for his maps of Europe in which the countries are depicted as figures. For this series of portraits the reverse is in order: texts and images appear in the faces. With: another 5 similar (handcoloured) plates by the same from the series "Pilori éternel" (1x) and "Fantaisies satiriques" (4x) (total 9 plates).
