[Geometry/ fortification] 2 treatises in one vol.: (1) "Traité de Géométrie Livre I-III".

Entirely French text, partly in red and black, ca. 1800, 3 parts in one volume with consecutive paging, 169 leaves (here and there paginated on both sides), with 146/ 75/ 327 illustrations in pen (partly handcoloured and incl. several pasted illustrations) with facing explanation, several tables, contemporary or slightly older vellum with title in pencil on front board, triple line borders and floral corner-pieces, folio.

Content very good, binding slightly stained and with some wear (endpapers loose from boards causing the (very thin) turned-in vellum to be loose). With on the free endpaper large calligraphed name "C.E. (?) v. Harinxma Thoe Slooten". Fine manuscript in various hands, possibly by the aforementioned Van Harixma Thoe Slooten, monogrammed on leaf 168 (not defined by us). With subsequent in the same volume: (2) "Traité de Fortification Partie I-II". Continuation in the same hand as the 3rd part of the Traité de Géometrie, two parts, 169-198 pp., 199-207,(1) leaves, with 12 illustrations in pen before the second part (beginning at p. 198) with facing text. With the same undefined monogram as in the Traité de Géometrie, here in the subtitle of the second part "Pratique de la Fortification [monogram]". Interesting combination of two manuscripts in one volume. Paper and binding appear to be slightly older than the manuscript.
