[Contribution by Ensor] Album amicorum van Jacqueline Hotton (born at Namur, 1922),

textile artist, with ca. 50 contributions (incl. inserted picture postcards with her work and family photos and portrait photos of the artist herself), dated 1942-1987, in block with decorated multicoloured leather spine, all edges gilt, the block insertable with back board in rich gilt and multicoloured leather wrapper with decoration in Asian style mosaic in bas-relief (uniform to the spine of the block), back cover of wrapper consisting of leather-clad wooden board with decorated, slanted edges, signed "Couplet. Bruxelles" on bottom, silk endpapers, 15.5 x 21 cm.

Spine of the wrapper once widened with leather and cloth. On the artist, see: Piron 1999, volume 1, p. 704. The most important contribution is by James Ensor, a handwritten text in red pencil, dated "Ostende 25 juillet 1945" and signed in full. Also with handwritten contributions by J. Thibaut de Maisières, Marie-Madeleine de Pierpont Surmont, Françoise Huart, Madeleine Mélot, H. Moretus Plantin, P. Liesman (gouache of "Roemah Laoet", country house of Leopold III), Camille Jacquemin (1899-1947, organist and composer, piece of music dated Dec. 1943), American soldiers such as Ford M. Beardsley (Dec. 1944), general Omar Nelson Bradley (signed card of the Twelfth Army Group under his command, there is a Wikipedia article on him), Henry Lee Munson and others.
