[Classic miniature songbook] 't Groot Hoorns, Enkhuyzer, Alkmaarder,

Amsterdam, Abram Cornelis, n.d. (c. 1760, 2 parts in one volume, 312,(8); 312; (8) p., with woodcut title illustration (banquet), woodcut vignettes, and music scores, contemporary gilt calf with gilt-lettered "Mopsi" on ribbed, gilt back, 32mo (7.5 x 5 cm.).

Inside a very good copy. Traces of missing clamp, joints torn in and spine ends damaged (this fine binding deserves some refurbishing). The lovely spine title "Mopsi" refers to the form of the book, both small and sturdy. Fine pocket edition of the famous miniature songbook of Hoorn, with the names of the nearby cities of Enkhuizen, Alkmaar and Purmerend [and Edam in the second part] have been added to the title, together with more than 300 (love) songs for weddings and other festivities. Scheurleer, Liedboeken, 186; Cat. Muziekhist. Museum Scheurleer II, p. 88. Not in Scheepers, Waller 1091 lists 2 different editions by J. Kannewet, with different woodcut vignettes on the titles.
