Archive of the Jonker family of Amsterdam

with emphasis on the late 19th/ early 20th century, partly related to Indonesia, consisting of extensive correspondence (mostly between Willem Jonker and Lucas Jonker), documents related to Neletta Jonker-v.d. Linden, (picture) postcards (± 50), university degree with seal (1893) and several school and university diplomas of counsel Willem Jonker (incl. gymnasium certificate 1883), ± 200 photos (mostly late 19th-century portraits), poems (partly in notebook), receipts, a drawing block, recipes, aphorisms, a typoscript for an article (1957), funeral cards, several books etc., all preserved in iron box (c. 1900), 30 x 32 x 42.5 (h x d x w).

Incl.: a photo of a man with rifle with a leopard, a lovely series of photos of a female family member playing tennis, many carte-de-visite-size portrait photos (incl. doubles) by Albert Greiner et al. (± 20x, incl. one "Onveranderlijke Kooldruk"), Wegner & Mottu (18x), G.A. Kerkmeijer (Apeldoorn), (Koene &) Büttinghausen (15x), C.F. & L.J Cordes (Haarlem, 4x, incl. portraits of dogs, also several cabinet-card-size portraits), Alexandre & Cie. (4x) G. Frohn (Baarn, also a cabinet-card-size portrait photo by Frohn in the archive). Also a file with "Indische Reisbrieven van W. Jonker aan L. Jonker en de zusters" (1904-1905), a "reisverslag 1948", a typoscript titled "Vrouwenleven in Frankrijk vóór de Revolutie" (22-X-1957), an Uiterste Wilsbeschikking of Mrs. N. Jonker-v.d. Linden (mother of Lucas and Willem and 2 other children) in sealed envelope (1934) and correspondence and receipts related to Helene van Rietschoten.
