Display with more than 50 boxes of lithographed tin or cardboard,

mostly 1st half 20th century but also incl. several late-19th-century copies, partly with contents (pins, grammophone needles, pastilles, dip pen nibs, matches and erasers), various shapes and sizes, display measures 37 x 27 x 6.5 cm. (w. x d. x h.).

Lovely collection of small, rare gadgets. A few noteworthy examples: (1) "Cliché Nadar Paris", cardboard slipcase with portrait of an elegant lady pasted to the top, 9 x 3.8 x 1.5 cm.; (2) "Koin-Pack", round plastic box with two condoms in thin metal package, by L.E. Shunk Latex Products co., Akron, Ohio, U.S.A., both with text "One latex prophylactic" and "Sold for the prevention of disease", diameter 4 cm.; (3) "Golden Cameos", a beautiful, tubular matchbox, entirely filled with matches with gold-coloured heads, with transparent top and coarse bottom surface for lighting a match, height 4.5 cm.; (4) "Verona Needles", tin can with paper seal still present, 4 x 4 x 1 cm.; (5-6) "Cachou Lajaunie", two round, tin cans filled with pastilles, diameter c. 5 cm.; (7) "Prima aluminium nachtlichten Gebr. Prikkers Amsterdam", cardboard box with portrait of a young Queen Wilhelmina with loose hair, 7.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm.; (8) "Cigarettes Couvet, Import and Export Le Caire (Egypte)", tin box, 8 x 4 x 1,5 cm. Also noteworthy are several filled tins with grammophone needles of the Columbia (3x), Marshall (2x), Songster and Loubscher brands and a number of unbranded cardboard boxes with chromolithographical illustration on top.
