Four various 19th-cent. titles: (1) Historie van den man met de bontemuts.

Vervattende een verhaal van een wonderlyke ontdekking in Duitschland. In tien printverbeeldingen, met derzelver uitleggingen, onder het oog en oordeel van de waereld gebragt. Den derden druk. Door een liefhebber van taal en dichtkunde verbeterd. Rotterdam, J. Hendriksen, n.d. (1806), (4),20 p., with 10 folding woodcut plates, contemporary wrapper, 4to.

Occ. sl. stained and with minor tears; paper on spine worn off. Rare chapbook with emphasis on the large amount of and exceptionally large-size plates for this type of book. The first printing appeared in Amsterdam in 1771, a second there c. 1790. With each plate there are two pages each time with a part in verse and a narrative part. The work tells of a German alchemist who discovered the secret of an eternally burning lamp. In order to keep this secret, he hid the lamp in the basement of his castle, and had it defended by a kind of robot-man with club and fur hat. After the death of the alchemist people entered the basement; their footsteps on the stairs activated the robot-man and with his club he smashed the lamp and its secret to smithereens; (2) Beschrijving van de verschillende wijzen van winterbeslag bij het paard, of van het zoogenaamde op scherp-zetten.
