First Dutch edition of Labat's detailed journal in which he presents an account of his voyages to the Caribbean islands. The journal is filled with historical observations and contains important sociological, geographical, zoological, anthropological and gastronomical remarks and an extensive treatise on the cultivation of cocoa and the production of chocolate. The maps cover parts of North and South America with the Caribbean islands, Martinique, Barbados, Santa Domingo etc. (total 2)
