Petrus Bertius was a Flemish theologian, historian, geographer and cartographer, related to the Flemish cartographer and engraver Jodocus Hondius. Bertius and Hondius are part of a Flemish tradition, besides Ortelius, Galle and others, with their detailed miniature atlases. In recent years only a few atlases of this size have been offered in complete condition.
