Spottiswoode for Longman etc., 1821, VIII, 530 p., with large folding, engraved map, two handcoloured aquatint plates (plates 6 (as frontispiece) and 12), 2 uncoloured aquatint views and another 10 engraved/ aquatint plates (1x folding), ills., contemporary polished calf by Henington (Ingram Court, Fenchurch St.), boards with gilt edges, gilt and ribbed back with morocco letterpiece, 4to.

Titlepage with flyleaf and frontispiece loose, as well as both boards (well restorable). Plates waterstained in blank margins (text barely affected); occ. foxed. Abbey, Travel 312. The binder, Henington, worked for the India Office, among others. John Davy was the younger brother of the chemist Sir Humphry Davy, inventor of the safety mine lamp.
