England, 2nd half 19th century (a few scraps older), scraps mostly chromolith. or colourlithographed or wood-engraved, including many very large (almost) full-p. or half-p. examples, also cont. many unused, thin, grey paper leaves, contemp. half leather, oblong folio (29 x 43 cm).
Slightly waterstained in places, several leaves frayed and/or loose, binding slightly rubbed. Overall quite well preserved. With heraldic bookplate of William Henry Mason (Morton Hall, Retford) on upper pastedown. Incl. scraps of all kinds of animals, portraits, the months of the year, costumes, biblical scenes, hunting scenes, horse racing, flowers, fruit, etc.
