[Pricking/ punch holes] (Mother with 2 children in an arbour)
"Pricking" (figures were created by pricking thousands of minuscule punch holes), finished as gouache, 27 x 35 cm, c. 1800.
Folded, partly water stains and decorative frame largely missing. Nonetheless a beautiful, brightly coloured and surprising piece.
