Lacks at least the portrait and the engraved title, but complete from quire B onwards; letterpress title-p. cut short. The binder preserved 2 bookplates from the former binding (Brooklyn Library and Friedrich Lorenz Hoffmann). (2) (J.H.S. Formey). Conseils pour former une bibliothèque peu nombreuse mais choisie. Nouvelle édition, corrigée et augmentée (...). Berlin, Haude et Spener, 1756, XX,352 pp., contemp. sheepskin, gilt spine w. mor. letterpiece. Spine dam.; corners of upper cover bumped. Paris, the author, an VIII (1799/1800), VIII,371,(3) p., contemp. marbled calf, gilt spine w. mor. letterpiece. Occas. browned; unidentified old stamped owner's initials on halftitle and title.
