[Bound with map and additional copy on silk] The traveller's guide,

containing the roads and stations through France and Germany, the distances of the principal cities from each other, and all the interesting and curious objects contained in any of them. Being an explanation of a new and very accurate itinerary map. Amsterdam, printed for E. Maaskamp, n.d. (1815), XXXVI,157,(1) p., with large folding, engraved map with coloured outlines, folding letterpress distance chart, original cardboard with letterpress title shield on front board, small 8vo (slightly tanned/foxed).

Very rare English edition of Maaskamp's "Guide des Voyageurs" from 1811; in PiCarta we found only one copy (available digitised), with a slightly differently coloured cardboard of the binding but with the same orange title shield on the front board and also with the map. Online, a copy without the map is offered with the assertion that this guide is not supposed to have a map as it was available separately from the publisher. Indeed, the map was available separately. With: "Nouvelle carte itinéraire qui indique d'une manière très exacte les routes et stations, ainsi que les distances des principales villes de France, d'Allemagne et Pays-Bas." Amsterdam, E. Maaskamp, n.d. (1811), engraved map with coloured outlines printed on silk, 34 x 43 cm., folded in original cardboard chemise and (slightly worn) case with letterpress title shield, 9.5 x 6 cm. (total 2).
