[Emblemata] C. de la Rue. Carminum libri quatuor
Paris, S. Benard, 1680, (6),283,(1) p., with engraved frontispiece, title illustration, portrait, top vignet and 27 emblems by G. Edelick, L. Cossinus and others, contemporary marbled calf with gilt spine with raised bands, 4to.
Here and there some foxing, spine ends and outer corners of boards worn, leather slightly dry; good copy with wide margins with engraved ex libris of Caumartin and old annotation in pen: "Godefroy (...) No. 61 de Mon Catalogue". Fine 4to edition, undoubtedly the scarce first edition. Although De Backer and Sommervogel list a 1670 edition, we could not find a single copy of this edition, so this is probably incorrect.
