Petrus Bertius was a Flemish theologist, historian, geographer and cartographer, and related to the Flemish cartographer and engraver Judocus Hondius. Bertius and Hondius are part of a Flemish tradition, besides Ortelius, Galle and others, with their detailed miniature atlases. In recent year only a few atlases of this size are presented complete.
