Leiden, P. van der Aa, 1712, (10),224,(52) p., with the following engravings: double-page frontispiece, double-page dedication and (entirely per binder's index) 32 mostly (large) folding maps, plans, views and historical plates, contemporary marbled calf, gilt and ribbed back with morocco letterpieces (very good copy with traces of use).

Scarce edition. That same year the more common work "Les delices de la campagne a l'entour de la ville de Leide (...)", by Gerard Goris, appeared at Theodoor Haak in Leiden. Our edition contains at the end (with separate title page) a lovely and very extensive "Catalogue des livres, des cartes geographiques, des villes tant en plan qu'en profil, et d'autres estampes en taille douce qui se trouvent a Leide, chez Pierre vander Aa" (42 p.). Contains a fine plan with profile of the city (28.5 x 35.5 cm.), plates related to Leidens Ontzet, fine views of the most important buildings (fortress, city hall, academy building, Pieterkerk, Hooglandsekerk, cloth hall etc.) and plates of the Anatomisch Theater, the Hortus Botanicus, university library etc.
