Two Italian prints: (1) Francesco Bartolozzi (1728-1815). (Landscape with fishermen).
Etching and engraving after Francesco Zucarelli (1702-1788), 45.5 x 31.5 cm., c. 1760, monogrammed F.B. in print, published by Joseph Wagner in Venice.
Taped small tear in right margin up to inside the plate edge but outside the image; several smaller tears in (wide) margin and a few other marginal defects, occ. creasing, yet a good copy. The print is at times also attributed to Fabio Berardi (1728-1788, Bartolozzi and Berardi knew each other) but at least one state exists with the full name Bartolozzi engraved in print. We therefore assume Bartolozzi to be the engraver. This confusion may very well have started at the time, a reference of initials "F.B." to "F. Bartolozzi" engraved in full would be sensible. And with one other large engraving by Pietro Monaco (1707-1772) after Simeon da Pesaro. (total 2)
