(6),360 pp., vignette with image city of Dordrecht on p. 1. and in the text various coats of arms of important Hollandish families and various municipal arms of Hollandish cities. Ex libris J.W. Six. Complete and in excellent condition. Johan van Beverwijck, descendant of a famous Dordrecht regent family, was a physician, had a broad general interest and wrote not only this first Dordrecht city history, but also a health study for a general audience, poems etc.; his medical works were very popular and were reprinted many times in the course of the 17th century, and were often provided with verses by Cats and engravings.
